Project Title
Numerical modelling and fractal analysis of magma fragmentation based on grain-size distributions of natural pyroclastic deposits
Project Description

My research project focuses on numerical modelling and fractal analysis of magma fragmentation based on grain-size distributions of natural pyroclastic deposits. We will provide a deeper understanding of the mechanisms of magma fragmentation during explosive eruptions and derive empirical relationships linking fragmentation efficiency and eruptive energy for volcanic hazard assessment.

Research Interests

My research interests cover the analysis of fine materials as volcanic ash, fractal analysis, study of soils, environment and natural risks, and finally the application of this theoretical knowledge and logical thinking to the resolution of engineering problems. In the future I plan to keep working on the same line, creating a connection between what is done in the field of engineering practice, and to keep it in harmony with the environment, I truly believe it is very important and beneficial for communities, industry and all the parts involved and affected. My professional interests lie in work in the field, lab research, and international teamwork.

About me

I graduated as a Geologist Engineer at the Universidad de Los Andes, ULA (Venezuela) and I received my Master (International Master in Advanced Clay Science) as an ERASMUS MUNDUS student at the Université de Poitiers (France).
